Let's not worry! Choose to replace anxious thoughts with prayer and the Word. This will stop the.  torment worry brings from the evil one. We can walk in peace and know that the Lord will answer our prayer and calm our fears. We are victorious!

No more guilt!

No more guilt! Thank you Jesus that you took away our guilt. There is no reason to fret over wrong choices we have made. We can have complete peace that God has forgiven us. If you struggle with guilty feelings start thanking God for forgiveness when those feelings come. God is so good, focus on His Goodness!

God sees the best

God sees the best in you!  Regardless of the weakness, shortcomings or mistakes we see or others might see; He always sees us at our best. Be sober-minded! Keep your mind calm and stayed. Live for eternity, be watchful and prayerful. look for opportunities to show Gods love! The earth is not our home and we want to make sure others know that there is hope!  It's not about us!

Working in you

Working in you! God began a work in you to will and to do his good pleasure. He is going to complete that work. Man is not in charge of your destiny. Allow him to do his work & seek not to please man but God. Live a life above reproach and be a light to the world around you as he works in you!

Women's Friendships....My Girlfriend --Maria!

Meet my friend, Maria....I want to tell you about my friend, Maria. I will share a little about our friendship. God used Maria’s daughter to unite us. It was through work relationship with her daughter, Lupe who worked part-time at my job. Lupe was smart, respectful and loved kids. She was actually the only teenager I ever wanted to babysit my boys. I was never a huge fan of teenage babysitters. I had heard Lupe talk about her family and knew that my kids would be great with her.

I asked Lupe if she could watch the boys, I could tell Lupe was from a great family. The day arrived and I am to drop off kids at the Perez family home with Lupe. This was a weird thing for me to do, drop them off at a stranger’s house. I drove up running late and guess what? Lupe wasn't there!. A very friendly Mexican lady with lots of life answers door, says hello to me, hugs and kisses, me and the boys. I knew Maria was going to be a new friend! She said Lupe was running late, but the boys would be fine with her until she got there. Why was I totally comfortable with this? Not the norm for me! She knew the boys names and our entire family. Obviously, Lupe had told her everything! She was super sweet. That is how our friendship started with one babysitting job for Lupe. I don’t think we even paid her. The boys LOVED Lupe!! All they wanted to know when I picked them up was when they could go back to the Perez’s house.

After that I randomly, started stopping over to see Maria and just chilling out with her. We would just cuddle on the sofa with blankets and talk "girl talk." She was safe with me and I was safe with her. We didn’t go the same church and she was ahead of me parenting. She had children in college. We laughed and just enjoyed each others company. Willie didn’t have a clue who the Perez’s were but soon he was involved too. Then we started doing family stuff together. Willie fell in love with them! He even became the high school girls "personal trainer" for track. He was a very hard trainer. Those girls suffered! Then he started randomly stopping by the Perez house. Pedro, Maria’s husband was glad to see Willie, now there was a man on the scene. There were 5 women in the Perez home!

We did picnics together, boat rides, bonfires and just family hang time. They even threw me a Mexican birthday party with songs in Spanish and lots of Mexican food! My kids love the Perez’s to this day. They are just a wild and crazy family, there house was always bustling, with adults, kids, laughter and plain family chaos.

Maria became more than my friend but my sister. I have since then walked with Maria from a distance through a tragic accident with her daughter, Carmen who is currently in a life care center. God has used this family tremendously during this very difficult time with their daughter Carmen to impact the life of many families. They have seen many miracles and know it is a miracle that Carmen is still with them! Maria thanks God daily!

I realized what a God special bond with Maria and I when we went to visit Washington State after Carmen’s accident. Maria was taking her first trip away from Carmen since the accident and told me she was really relieved that I would be in town part of the time she was gone. She knew I would go see Carmen, pray over her and pray for her. That was so true and that's exactly what I did.

I have often encouraged Maria in the Lord, sharing scripture and praying for her and her family. Maria for me was just a girl who I could be myself with and she took care of me, when I didn’t always do that for myself. She would even give me home pedicures. Washing my feet even as Jesus did! She has an amazing servants heart. I love her she was a safe place that I could just run away from hubby, kids and mom to just relax and laugh. She would drop everything and just chill with me. It was where she was in life and I SO needed that!

Many God moments with the Perez family happened! Recently, Maria's youngest daughter put on my facebook page.."Today in church our priest asked us if we remember the first people that brought us to Christ and before he finished his sentence, I thought of you. Thank you so much for starting one of the best and most rewarding journeys ever I will endure. I love you very much and miss you tons!" I remember that day that God allowed me to share Christ with Veronica in my living room! That was a great God moment with that family!

Maria still tells me how she misses my random stops by her home. I would always knock on the door once and walk in. Their dog(Chester) would run out door and run away (every time). We would typically let the dog run way and do nothing but laugh. We would let someone else most often, her husband go after him. I would always over stay her house too long. The phone would ring, I would see it was Willie and say, “Oh my, gotta go!” One time he even came by and said, " I knew you were here!"

I love Maria, and 11 years later I still consider Maria my friend and sister! All it takes is a phone call, skype or a visit and we pick right up where we left off! I know that Maria's friendship has made a difference in my life and the life of my family. Thank you Jesus for Maria!!!

Maria's thoughts on our friendship.. She is amazing , caring and fun friend! I remember when she and her friend, Arlene invited us to dinner, what was crazy about this was they were making a Chinese stir fry and they didn't have a recipe... Then it was our turn, we invited them over to dinner and that was the beginning of a great friendship. What I loved about Lisa was she was the one friend who dropped by unannounced and would stay until Willie or the boys called asking if she was there. We would just talk and make plans for whatever we needed to do. I loved how she told my husband, "Maria is coming with me!" No questions asked! I loved how we always managed to have fun. It was always wild and crazy but fun. I love how God puts friends in our lives that we need. To this day Lisa is there for me, even from a distance, she always calls me when I need her, like someone tells her," your friend needs you now" and she calls, I love knowing she is always just a phone call away. And watch out when she visits that is a whirlwind, with tons of fun! love my friend Lisa!!!!!

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NIV
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work; If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!

God is on your side! If GOD is for you who can be against you. You are always on the winning team.  Do not fold under opposition because because you already have the victory!

Victory!!!

Walk in victory! Being that we have been blessed so tremendously by God with every spiritual blessing we should not ever look or act defeated. As believers we have Gods spirit dwelling on the inside of us! Lift your head and know who u belong to!

God's Word!!

The Word of God!  We really can not live without the Word of God. Bible reading is a must in the life of a believer!  It's our manual for life that reveals the heart of God!  Start reading it daily today it will transform your life.

Success is from the Lord!!!

Success! All successes should be attributed to God. We are able to accomplish nothing without God. When man gives accolades for something you do always remember to give glory to God. We were created for his worrkmanship!

Slow Down

Slow down! So often we get impatient. Wait on God before you move.  He is always at work even when we don't see it. Seek Him and trust Him. You will surely follow the path He has for you then!

I love my girlfriends!!!

I have found over the years that women's friendships seem to freak a lot of women out. I happen to be a girl who truly enjoys friendships with other girls! It's never been a scary thing for me... I just enjoy girls in my life!

Perhaps because I grew up with mostly males in my neighborhood and have always been surrounded by boys and men. I am not sure if the trouble with women's friendship is a result of bad experiences, time issues, not wanting to vulnerable or just simply not liking people. I do know that God can help you with all of that. You can be free from that and learn to enjoy the girls in your life. God uses friendships to grow us! If you choose to open your heart up to it. God did not mean for anyone to be without friendships. And girls need girls! I don't know, I just enjoy girls and have so much fun with my girlfriends!

The thing I think that helps me the most with friendships is just being me. I am the same no matter what environment I am in!!! I am a Jesus loving freak at home, work, church or with my friends! I am just ME at all times. I don’t feel the pressure to be anything but who God wants me to be at all times. I don’t change when certain people are around, nor do I treat my friends differently when others are around. God created me to be me and I am comfortable being me. I think that takes a lot of pressure off.

I have some of the most amazing girlfriends too! I have a few girls that are very close to me....whom I share some very personal stuff with. These girls are the ones who pray for me and encourage me on the days that life have seemed too tough. I even have a few girls who speak into my life and don't sugar coat it! They push me to do what God has called me to do. Some of these same girls are the reason why I am the woman of God I am today. I don't even see them often or talk to them daily, but they have blessed my life tremendously.

One of the things I love about my girl friends is that they enjoy each other when we all get together. I remember a going a way party when Willie was in the Marines. I invited all my friends, some were from church, bible studies, work, kid's schools, etc. They all knew each other because they heard me talking about each other to each other. It was an amazing time of fellowship. I kept hearing, "oh you are ....., Lisa talks about you." It was hilarious! That was 15 years ago and some of them still tell me I saw....so and so the other day...you know the one who was at your going away party.

I believe you can have different types of friendships in your life. For me I just open myself up and it happens. I have lots of different friends too, young and old and all ethnicities too! I learn a lot from my friends. I have learned how to cook different foods, and have different cultural experiences because of my friends. We are all unique and can learn a lot from each other as women.

I am one of those girls who can pretty much get along with anyone. I have even been accused of seeing something good in everyone. Not may people annoy me. I must admit there have been a few, but normally I get over myself, see them the way Jesus does and love them. Oh and if you annoy me I will probably tell you what is annoying me.

I believe you have to be honest with of your friends and allow them to be honest with you. If you want to maintain friendships you can't offend easily and be careful not to offend others. You can always tell when you offend someone too, so don't try to pretend you don't know. Go to the person and make it right. I would hope if I offend a friend they would tell me. Trust me, I have been there before. I just apologized and we moved on.

I just want to be a godly example to any girl who steps in my life. Most of my friends know I love the Lord my God with all my heart, soul and mind. I am not ashamed of the gospel or to share it. I believe in obedience and believe the Word is to grow you, correct and restore. If you step into my circle. I am bringing the Word and bringing it hard!

I believe the Word of God commands obedience out of love for the ones whom He has saved. Those who are close to me know I will correct you with the Word! So if you want to be my friend be ready to grow and be challenged. I am sure this has kept some away....oh well...that's me! I don't judge people but will speak truth to them and expect people to speak truth to me.

I love my friends and want them to be all God wants them to be. I have just learned that friendships are not about me but others. I do not mind sharing my life with others. I believe it is part of the ministry God has given me. My life does not belong to me but God. I want to use it for his Glory! I believe friendships with my girlfriends is one of the ways he can be glorified. I want to be a living epistle for my Lord and I can't do that if I don't open my life up to those around me.

You are God's!

You are His! Thank u Father that you belong to Him.  Your life was intentional! You were hand chosen by God & knitted in your mother's womb before the earth was even formed. He knew the pathway for your life. You have purpose, live for Him and walk in that purpose!

Wisdom

Wisdom! When u.don't know what to say or do ask God for wisdom.  He says when can ask him and He would give freely. Do not operate out of emotion but Godly wisdom.  Know your God and have deep respect for Him. This is the beginning of wisdom.!

Watch!

Watch for the Lord! It's is a good reminder to live a life pleasing to God.  Make choices today as if he were returning today.  Be alert and remember that we are to tell the good news to others!

Focus on Eternity

Life today is about forever! We get it so wrong thinking our living is about now & what we have now.  Our lives should count today for the purpose of eternity. We are to live loving God and loving people which stores eternal riches. Living in a way so others experience eternal life.  Change your focus today!

Surprise, Temptation Happens!

You will be tempted! The important thing is that you not fall into that temptation. We have a choice so choose to take the way of escape. You can not do it in your strength but you can in God's.  Say no to temptation no matter how strong the urge. Submit to God, resist the tempter & he will flee. Victory

You are my help!

You are my help! Thank God that there is no reason to feel helpless. I can always look to you for support. When I am overwhelmed you are my Rock I can cling to. There are many times I will need your help and I can cry out to you.You will give me what I need. Thank you for being my helper!

A Post I Wrote for the Sisterhood Blog on October 10, 2012

Oh, so hey sistas and brothers who snoop on this page!! I am so excited to be a part of Celebration Sisterhood and delighted to write a blog! Thank you Pastor Kerri! I just want to share something God has been showing me lately. I have such a good time making myself available to God. God says in Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Lately God has shown me very clearly and powerfully that if you pray according to His will and make yourself available to Him, He will definitely use you.

So, I happen to be one of those girls who loves to write my prayers, it really helps me focus and not be all over the place. It is also a great way for me to leave “footprints” for my grandkids. I am hoping one of them will enjoy trying to decipher (my handwriting’s a mess) some of my journals and learn something about prayer and God. One day, I did my normal prayer journaling in the morning and it was later that night when I went back and read what I had prayed and I was blown away! I will tell you what happened before I tell you what I prayed.

Okay, so I am on my way out the doors of church when I was approached by another person who told me they had someone they wanted me to talk to, encourage, and pray with. Of course, I never would turn that down, it’s what I love to do! I returned to my office to meet with this young lady. It was an incredible experience! I was pretty excited about what God did during our time together. On the way home, I knew that this had been a divine appointment.

For some reason, on the drive home I started thinking about what I had prayed for that morning. I could not wait to get home to see what I had prayed because the experience had been so unbelievable. I raced to my journal just to see what I had asked for. I opened my journal and could not believe the prayer I had prayed. “Lord, I desire to be used more by you, I am available, I desire to be your hands and your feet. I desire to do ministry to broken girls and women. You said you would give us our heart’s desire. I ask you to put ministry in my hands.”

It was just mind boggling to me what God had done! He had answered my prayer so quickly. All because I asked according to His will and made myself available. We are His and have been created to do the works that he has prepared far in advance. Girls, I challenge you to ask God to use you daily and make yourself available to do what you are created to do. We can make a big difference in our world! We are Sisterhood!

Birthed during the 21 Days of Fasting and Prayer!

A few days after the fast began, I started sending a few friends words of encouragements through texts. So many have expressed that it has been a blessing to their lives so figured I would type them all up and post them daily on my blog for all to be blessed by!
